I’ll be posting my thoughts as I come up with them regarding this finale, but to get the ball rolling, here is my first theory on Charles.
A is Jason’s twin, Charles.
He is most likely disfigured on one side of the face. He wears masks all the time, we’ve seen A wearing a mask that was burnt on the side (maybe to symbolize the disfiguration beneath it), and the theme of the prom was opera (like in the phantom of the opera, when the phantom wears a mask over half of his face to cover his scars)
Charles was most likely sent to Radley as a child for some reason
At Radley, he met Bethany, another girl with a facial disfiguration (we saw that from the sketches she made of herself), and they connected and fell in love
Bethany hated Mrs. D because she locked Charles up there, and Mrs. D referred to herself as “Auntie Jess” to Bethany because Bethany was in a relationship with her son.
Both patients escaped from Radley together the night that Ali went missing (the call that Mrs. D got which led to her telling Ali to stay home)
Bethany wore the yellow shirt to look like Ali and went around impersonating her.
Someone murdered Bethany. This murder was probably caused by the liars in some way while they were drugged by Ali.
Charles was heartbroken, hit Ali with the rock, and Mrs. D protected him by burying Ali.
He took over Mona’s game as revenge on the liars for killing his love.
When Mrs. D tried to back out of protecting him, he killed her.
